One-full time primary care physician is being recruited, and we will communicate timing as we know more.
"The type of specialist will be determined by the demand of the area," said Melinda Hancock, Vice President of Strategic Finance at Bon Secours Richmond Health System. "We want to provide the care in the community that we can and partner with all surrounding providers," she said.
Urbanna's office will be the eighth timeshare model that Bon Secours utilizes. The closest one is in Tappahannock.
"If a patient needs hospital care when they are released, Urbanna Medical Center will help manage their health care locally," she added. "It is in our best interest to treat patients where they live. Our hospitals are very busy, and we want to help the patient have the right care at the right time in the right place."
Emergencies
For emergencies, our physicians are available to you 24 hours a day. After hours
you will be transferred to our on-call physician service. If you are
experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Referrals
We request 72 hours notice for processing physician referrals, except in the case of an emergency.
Prescription Refills
For your convenience, refill requests for medications other than controlled
drugs may be requested through your pharmacy, and your pharmacy will submit the
request to us. Medication refill requests should be made during normal business
hours. We request 48 hours to process refill requests.
Medical Records
Your records are confidential and will not be released without a signed
consent from you.
