Rishi Bala, MD, RMSK, CAQ

Dr. Bala attended James Madison University for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from the University of Silesia Medical School located in Poland and completed his family medicine residency at Bon Secours St. Francis Family Medicine Residency Program/Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Bala is board certified in family medicine.

In addition, Dr. Bala completed a sports medicine fellowship from Fairfax Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine. Dr. Bala has worked with the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, multiple collegiate teams and high schools as the team doctor.

Patricia McClendon, MD

Dr. McClendon received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine, Milton Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, Pa. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. McClendon is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

She is a member of the National Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Pharmaceuticals and Therapeutics Committee.

Tami Fountain-Ellis, MD

Dr. Fountain-Ellis received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed her residency with Riverside Hospital in Newport News. She is board certified in family practice.

Haroon Hyder, MD

Dr. Hyder received his medical degree from the University of Mysore in Mysore, India, and completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He is board certified in family medicine.

Shailendra Kapoor, MD

Dr. Kapoor received his medical degree from Thanjavur Medical College located in Thanjavur, India, and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is board certified in family medicine.

Carolyn Moncure, ANP

Ms. Moncure attended Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island, for her undergraduate degree. She received her nurse practitioner degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Soeria Sanderford, FNP

Ms. Sanderford attended The Red Cross School of Nursing in Tehran. She received her Master of Science in medical surgical nursing from The Catholic University of America and her family nurse practitioner degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Sanderford served as a captain in the United States Army at Fort Lee, Virginia. She is fully licensed by the State of Virginia Board of Nursing.

Mark Barr, MD

Dr. Barr received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He is board certified in family practice.

Christie Kuna, FNP-C

Christie Kuna, our nurse practitioner, received her Bachelor of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Buffalo, the State University of New York. Ms. Kuna is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Timothy Talbert, NP-C

Timothy Talbert, our nurse practitioner, attended James Madison University for his undergraduate degree. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Talbert is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Catherine Varney, DO

Dr. Varney attended the University of Alabama for her undergraduate degree and the University of South Alabama for her Master of Physical Therapy degree. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her family medicine residency from McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Dr. Varney is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
