Mark R. Bladergroen, M.D.
Dr. Bladergroen, cardiac surgeon and vice president for medical affairs, is a cardiothoracic surgeon and cardiothoracic section chief at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital.
Dr. Bladergroen specializes in minimally invasive valve repair and replacement as well as aortic aneurysm endograft surgery and off-pump (beating heart) bypass surgery. He performed the first thoracic endograft in central Virginia.
Steven M. Fiser, M.D.
Dr. Fiser, cardiovascular surgeon at Memorial Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospital, completed his fellowships in cardiac surgery and endovascular surgery at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. He is board certified in general surgery. In addition to Dr. Fiser's medical experience, he is a seasoned writer with three published books and numerous professional journal articles.
Dr. Fiser specializes in endovascular surgery, a newer and less invasive procedure for treating thoracic aortic aneurysms.
Marc R. Katz, M.D.
Dr. Katz, regional leader and nationally recognized cardiac surgeon, is the medical director of the Heart and Vascular Institute and head of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Program at Bon Secours Richmond Health System.
Dr. Katz specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures, robotic assisted surgery, off-pump (beating heart) bypass surgery, surgery for congestive heart failure, placement of Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) and heart transplants.
