Brook Run Family Physicians physicians

Dr. Cook attended Vanderbilt University for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed his Family Medicine residency at the Maine Medical Center. Dr. Cook is board certified in Family Medicine.  

Our nurse practitioner, Emily Hogan, attended Virginia Tech where she received a bachelor’s in Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Ms. Hogan has been working as a Registered Nurse in Acute Neuroscience at VCU Health System. Her interests include health, wellness and preventative medicine. Emily was born and raised in Richmond, where she now lives with her husband, Nick.

Joynita Robinson Nicholson, D.O.
Dr. Nicholson received her medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Ohio. She is board certified in family practice.

Stephen Read, M.D.
Dr. Read received his medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed his residency at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in family practice.
