If your child has a problem with growth, diabetes, puberty, or another disorder associated with hormones and the glands that produce them, he or she may need to see a Pediatric Endocrinologist. Hormones are chemicals that affect how children grow and mature. Endocrine glands, such as the pituitary gland, which controls growth, release hormones into a person's bloodstream.
At Bon Secours, we know that children aren't small adults — and this is especially true of endocrine systems. Children's endocrine systems are very different from adults', and our Pediatric Endocrinologists have received special training to deal with all kinds of hormonal problems in infants, children, and teens. Our Pediatric Endocrinologists will work with you and your child not only to provide the best medical care, but also to make you and your child feel comfortable and secure. We'll take the time to talk with you but more importantly, we'll take the time to listen.
