Four questions with St. Mary's employees who have been with Bon Secours Richmond for 40 years
- What do you enjoy most about your work at St. Mary's Hospital?
"I just like the people I work with. There's always room to grow. You're learning something new everyday. St. Mary's has a very good reputation. We're Magnet. Everybody seems interested in you, your feelings and opinions."
Anne P. Loftin, Orthopedics, Spinal Unit, has been at St. Mary's for nine years - What makes St. Mary's different?
"The thing I like about St. Mary's is the people. We are like a very large family, working together as a team to provide 'good help to those in need.'"
Gail H. Moore, Nurse Administration, came to St. Mary's from Stuart Circle Hospital - Why have you stayed at St. Mary's for 40 years?
"I have to say it's been wonderful. I love it. I love the people I work with. When other hospitals opened, people would ask if I was going to work there. But this is like home to me. I can't describe how I love working here."
Mary W. Evans, Mother-Infant Unit, who has worked at St. Mary's for 40 years. She is 67 and still working part-time. - What changes have you seen through the years?
"Being here so long, you watch the changes each year and the changes have been for better. I know we're going to expand more, but the place is wonderful."
