Bon Secours and City of Richmond Sign Deal With Redskins
Bon Secours Richmond Health System will be the main sponsor of a $10 million training camp facility for the Washington Redskins to be built on state land behind the Science Museum of Virginia. This investment will not only put Richmond on the map as having one of the most state-of-the-art NFL training camp facilities in the country, but will also stir economic and community development within the City of Richmond. The agreement will invest nearly $40 million into the city and is projected to add over 200 new jobs to the area.
Below are the components that Bon Secours Richmond Health System included in its letter of intent:
- Bon Secours Richmond Health System participation will enable the construction of the Redskins practice fields and sports medicine facility at Leigh Street (investment of almost $6.4 million over 10 years).
- Bon Secours Richmond Health System will develop a medicine and related use property at the former Westhampton School property site as well as maintain the adjacent football field.
- Bon Secours Richmond Health System will develop a medical wellness and fitness center and related use property in the East End adjacent to the Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital site.
