Good Location
About Richmond

The greater Richmond area holds firm to its significant place in American history but mixes that beautifully with modern appeal and conveniences. Nearly one million people call this Central Virginia region home.

With its premier location along the banks of the James River, residents can be hiking or skiing in the Blue Ridge Mountains or swimming in the Atlantic Ocean in only two hours. Just 100 miles south of our nation’s capital, the Richmond area is the middle point between Boston and Atlanta. An international airport and highways in every direction make travel into and out of the area effortless. In fact, more than 50 percent of the country’s population lives within a 750-mile radius of Richmond.

Even with the numerous travel opportunities afforded to residents, most people find everything they need close to home. The River City features a full selection of fine dining, cultural options, upscale shopping and family attractions. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts hosts the largest collection of Faberge objects outside of Russia. Legendary Monument Avenue, the only U.S. street to earn a National Historic Landmark designation, is lined with period architecture and statues of famous figures in the city’s heritage.

With four award-winning hospitals and multiple physician practices located in the greater Richmond area, Bon Secours is the place to grow both careers and families.
