The Mission of the
Bon Secours Health System is to bring compassion to healthcare and to be good help to those in need, especially those who are poor and dying. As a system of caregivers we commit ourselves to help bring people and communities to health and wholeness as part of the healing ministry of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.

Peter Bernard has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience. He manages all healthcare business of Bon Secours Virginia to achieve targeted mission objectives, financial performance, maximize market position and provide outstanding customer service. He is active in the Richmond community, having served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross, the YMCA, Central Virginia Health Network and the Children's Museum. His community involvement includes the American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, United Way, American College of Health Care Executives, Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, The Leadership Institute, The Forum Club, St. Joseph's Villa and St. Bridget's Parish.
