Adoption Assistance
Adoption resources, legal assistance, leave of absence and an adoption benefit package are available, including $3,500 for full-time employees and $1,750 for part time.

AIG Retirement – Tax Deferred Savings (403b/401k)
AIG Retirement offers employees the opportunity to save pre-tax dollars for retirement.

ArtRageous
Discover your hidden talents! Art classes are offered throughout the year to all Bon Secours Richmond employees.

Cafeteria
There are onsite cafeterias at our four hospitals, and employee discounts are offered to those with an ID badge.

Camp – Holiday Breaks
Our Bon Secours Family Centers plan special camp activities for school-aged children during winter and spring breaks.

Camp – Summer
Our Bon Secours Family Centers make available a specific number of spaces for employee children and grandchildren to participate in organized fun and educational activities during the summer.

Cancer Protection Plan
This optional insurance benefit is available to all employees, full time and part time, the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

CareCorps/Community Volunteer Opportunities
CareCorps identifies community volunteer opportunities for healthcare providers.

Caring for CareGivers
This benefit provides opportunities for personal time off for caregivers, and it includes resources, referrals, and classes and support groups for employees caring for elderly relatives.

Chair Massages
Employee Wellness hosts onsite chair massages for employees at $10 per session.

Child Care – Back-up/Drop-in
When regular child care falls through, we provide alternative child care help through our Family Centers.

Child Care – In Home
Through Family Home Care, Inc., Bon Secours Richmond makes provisions for working parents who cannot be with sick children at home. Employees pay only 50 percent of the hourly rate, which is payable through payroll deduction. Each employee is allowed up to 10 utilizations per year, with a four-hour minimum and 10-hour maximum per day.

Child Care – Onsite
Through our Family Centers, child care is available for children 6 weeks or older based on need and location. Bon Secours Richmond Health System proudly runs three family centers to offer on-site child care at:

  • Memorial Regional Medical Center campus
  • St. Francis Medical Center campus
  • St. Mary’s Hospital campus

Child Care - Richmond Community Hospital Option
Convenient child care for our Richmond Community employees is available at the Robert L. Taylor Child Care Center, 929 North 29th Street.

Child Care - Sick
Through the Rainbow Station Get Well Place, Bon Secours Richmond makes provisions for working parents caring for sick children. Bon Secours Richmond pays the $40 registration fee for employees who pre-register. Employees pay $9, and we pay the rest. For contagious children, employees pay $4, and we pay the rest. This benefit is available through the Bon Secours Family Center.

Commonwealth Parenting
Employees are eligible for discounts on parenting classes and educational consultations.

Competitive Edge Karate
Employees and their families are eligible for discounts on karate programs.

College Coach Program
The Bon Secours Family Center provides assistance with applications for college admission and financial aid. College fairs are held annually.

College Fair
Annual College Fair presents employees and their children with information about colleges, admissions applications, applying for scholarships, tuition assistance and other resources.

Core Pilates
Employees are eligible for discounts on Pilates classes and periodic on-location classes.

Costco
Employees are eligible for membership to the wholesale shopping club through Bon Secours Richmond.

Pastoral counseling is available at hospital facilities to all employees who desire speaking with an ordained minister.

Creating Wellness
Employees are eligible for discounts on chiropractic services.

Credit Union
Employees are eligible to join the LifeLine Credit Union that provides loans, savings accounts, Christmas clubs, etc. LifeLine Credit Union is located at 5855 Bremo Road, Suite 701, Richmond, Va.

Credit Union
Employees are eligible to join New Generations Federal Credit Union (Formerly VaCap).

Crisis Fund for Employees
Our employees may receive up to a $1,000 lifetime maximum grant for financial hardships.

Our stress management team helps employees cope with crisis or trauma on the job.

Dependent Care Assistance
Employees, both full time and part time, are eligible for several programs that assist with sick and well child care and with eldercare. The assistance is available through our Bon Secours Richmond Family Centers.

Dependent Care Resource & Referral Program
Provided through the Bon Secours Richmond Family Centers, employees are provided with resources and referrals to various community child care and eldercare programs.

Dependent Care Spending Account
We offer employees the opportunity to set aside tax-free dollars to reimburse for out-of-pocket child care expenses. This benefit is for both full- and part-time employees.

Diabetes Classes
Free to our employees, the classes focus on information, resources, lifestyle changes and meal planning for diabetics.

Direct Deposit
We offer convenient direct deposit for our employees who use Bank of America, which provides free premiere checking accounts.

Education
Bon Secours Richmond shows its commitment to the professional development of its employees through a vast assortment of educational opportunities, including: online learning management system, computer training, new employee and new leader orientation, career and personal development, School@Work, GED preparation, and ESOL. Classes accommodate employees throughout our health system, regardless of shift work, location and time.

Eldercare
Several specific programs are available to assist employees who are caregivers for elderly relatives.

Elder Care Home Health
For at-home eldercare, Bon Secours Richmond will provide a 50 percent subsidy for CNAs, LPNs, or RNs to care for employees’ aging relatives. Costs are payable through payroll deduction. Each employee is allowed up to 10 utilizations per year, with a four-hour minimum and 10-hour maximum per day.

Employee Assistance Program
Our EAP allows for personal and confidential counseling for drug and alcohol abuse problems, mental health, stress, parenting, financial concerns, and marital and relationship difficulties.

Employee Wellness Services
Employees are strongly encouraged to use our wellness services to improve their health and wellbeing. Offerings at each hospital site plus Windsor include pre-employment screenings and evaluations, health resources and tools, programs, online classes, traditional classroom instruction, and occupational health.

Ergonomic Assessments
Employee Wellness offers assessments of work stations and work-oriented tasks.

ESOL (English as a Second Language)
Employees may take onsite English language classes.

Family Medical Leave (FMLA)
Absence based on family member medical requirements can be approved.

Flexible Schedules
Schedules may be adjusted for school- and class-work. Employees can move from full-time to part-time to PRN and back in most job categories. Job sharing, per diem and nine-month arrangements also can be considered, as departments can accommodate.

Flu Shots
This annual program offers free onsite flu shots for employees.

Health Club Membership – American Family Fitness Center
Membership discounts are available to six health and fitness centers with 24-hour access. Initial training is included. Fees can be paid through payroll deduction.

Health Club Membership – Richmond Athletic Club
For any full- or part-time employee, the athletic club offers no enrollment fee and the first month free. Fees can be paid through payroll deduction.

Health Club Membership – Robious Sports & Fitness Center
Fees can be paid through payroll deduction.

Health Club Membership – Weinstein JCC
Employees receive an approximate 20 percent discount.

Health Club Membership – YMCA of Greater Richmond
Discounts for employees are available at 10 area facilities. Fees can be paid through payroll deduction.

Health & Fitness Classes – Onsite
Employee Wellness hosts a variety of fitness classes and other activities onsite. These include yoga, pilates, belly dancing, Tai Chi, QiGong and more.

Health Risk Appraisal
We offer annual assessments with cholesterol and blood pressure screenings.

Housing – Employer Assisted
Through SunTrust Mortgage, our employees, full-time and part-time, are eligible for a $5,000 forgivable loan for first-time home buyers and a $300 closing credit.

Huntington Learning Center
The center offers assessment discounts for all Bon Secours Richmond employees.

Insurance – Accidental Death & Dismemberment Coverage
This benefit is available for full- and part-time employees.

Insurance – Dental/MetLife
Employee insurance covers preventative care, six-month check-ups, and basic and major restorative. It is available to full- and part-time employees.

Insurance – Disability (Long Term)
Long-term disability is available for full-time employees and provided through UNUM. The benefit is employer paid.

Insurance – Disability (Short Term)
Our voluntary, short-term disability program is provided through AFLAC. The benefit is employee paid.

Insurance – Medical
Employee insurance covers hospitalization, outpatient care, sick office visits, and prescription drug cards. It is available to full- and part-time employees. Bon Secours Richmond pays 85 percent of employees’ health insurance.

Insurance – Vision
Employee insurance covers eye exams, frames, lenses and contacts at discounts. It is available to full- and part-time employees.

Lactation – Rooms and Coaching
Private rooms are available for nursing mothers at the three Family Centers. Contact your manager to determine if there is an additional lactation room at your specific location. Lactation coaching for mothers experiencing difficulty or questions is also available.

Lay Health Leader Program
Training is provided for employees without a formal healthcare background, so they can address health concerns in their church, neighborhood or community.

Leave of Absence (LOA)
Full- and part-time employees are eligible for Family Medical Leave, Leave of Absences and Military Leave (Recalls/Reservist).

Legal Services
Prepaid legal services are available with employee membership.

Lending Library – Education
Our Education Department continues to increase professional development learning resources for employees. Topics include everything from dealing with difficult people to time management.

Lending Library – Employee Wellness Services
A variety of wellness books and videos can be found at Employee Wellness Services.

Life Insurance
Employees, full- and part-time, benefit from twice their base annual salary with options available to increase (except VHS physicians and Ironbridge Assisted Living Facility employees). The insurance is provided through UNUM.

Life Insurance for Dependents and Spouses
Coverage is available at group rates provided through UNUM for full- and part-time employees.

Maternity/Paternity Leave
In addition to accrued paid time off, full-time employees receive three days (eight hours each) and part-time receive one and half days (four hours each) for maternity, paternity or adoption. There are no stipulations. Employees may choose to take more time unpaid under the Family Medical Leave Act after using accrued leave.

My Gym
Discounted classes and memberships for Bon Secours Richmond employees are available: 50 percent off the Lifetime Membership fee (regularly $75. but $37.50 with discount), and 20 percent off Monthly Tuition (regularly $68.00 but $54.40 with discount).

Nurse Externship Program
Summer Nurse Externships are offered once a year and are open to nursing students in their senior year. The program is eight to 12 weeks, depending on the session selected. To be eligible, students must attend an accredited RN school of nursing, complete junior-level studies, hold current certifications in AHA or ARC healthcare provider CPR, commit to the entire summer program, submit completed nurse externship and employment applications, and submit two nursing instructor references. Recruitment begins in the fall, with an application deadline in January. Acceptance into the program is announced in March.

Nurse Preceptor Program
All newly hired nurses are provided with an experienced preceptor during the orientation period. A nursing preceptor workshop is for registered nurses who are precepting nurses for orientation. The preceptor class is required for all new nurse preceptors. Participants must be selected by their manager as a potential preceptor for their unit.

LPN Nursing Program
St. Mary's School of Practical Nursing offers Bon Secours employees tuition at the Henrico County resident rate.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Paid time off for personal, vacation, sick or holidays is available upon employment for full- and part-time employees.

Parenting Classes
Commonwealth Parenting offers Welcome Home Baby, Ages and Stages, Parenting the Pre-Schooler and many other helpful classes for parents. Discounted assessments and testing services are included.

Parenting Information
Love and Learn offers parenting information, assistance and classes for employees.

Parish Nurse Network
Employees may receive training for congregational health ministry. There is a nominal fee that includes training, ongoing support and mentoring.

Parking
Free parking is available for employees at all locations.

Pension/Retirement Plan
Income is available for employees’ retirement. The benefit is based on years of service and salary. For eligibility, employees must work one year or 1,000 hours and are vested after five years if there is no break in service.

Peoples Income Tax
There is a 20 percent discount on tax preparation to all Bon Secours employees who bring in a W-2. Employees age 55 or older receive a 25 percent discount. Peoples will provide a tax preparation quote for free and will offer a VIP loyal client discount when you return for services the following year. For information, stop by one of Peoples’ 13 offices throughout the Richmond area.

Pet Therapy
Patients may receive the therapeutic benefits of comfort and companionship with a hospital pet to ease the stress of hospitalization and illness.

Phased Retirement
Employees 65 or older who meet qualifications may receive Bon Secours Richmond retirement checks while working part time.

Prescription Drug Plan
Pharmacy and mail-order program provides employees, full and part time, RX coverage.

Scholarships – Sons, Daughters and Grandchildren
Bon Secours Richmond awards merit-based scholarships for high-school and first- or second-year college students: $1,000 to up to 10 children and five grandchildren of full- and part-time employees after 30 days of employment.

School@Work
This program is designed to help employees move ahead in their professional development track with a focus on math, communications, and computer skills, along with healthcare-specific topics.

School of Medical Imaging
Program curriculum is designed to meet the guidelines established by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Courses are comprised of both classroom and clinical education activities.

School of Nursing, Memorial Regional Medical Center
Students can prepare for licensure as a registered nurse and receive a solid foundation to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Senior Connections
Referrals available for employees on senior programs and care options.

Senior Navigator
Bon Secours Richmond partners with this online resource to offer information and referrals for older employees and their elderly relatives.

Sibling Classes
Employees can learn how to get along with their siblings or teach their children to get along with each other.

SMARTMOVE
Bon Secours employees and family members can get a rebate for buying or selling a home using an approved real estate agent. SMARTMOVE also offers “move management services,” such as changing utilities, locating temporary housing or awarding priority status with Mayflower or United moving companies.

Stress Management
Success Over Stress helps employees deal with the stress in their lives by identifying the sources and finding ways to avoid stressors.

Sylvan Learning Center
Bon Secours employees receive $30 off the initial assessment fee at three Sylvan locations. Sylvan provides additional help with school work and supplemental instruction for students K-12.

Tax Counseling and Preparation
Free tax counseling and preparation is provided for low- to medium-income employees by AARP Tax-Aide.

Tuition Prepayment
Tuition prepayment is offered, including book fees, to employees making less than $10 per hour after 90 days of employment. Employees with a PRN status are not eligible for prepayment.

Tuition Reimbursement
Reimbursement is available to full- or part-time employees or employees with a PRN status. Full-time employees are eligible for $3,600 undergrad and $5,000 graduate. Part-time and PRN employees are eligible for $1,800 undergrad and $2,500 graduate. PRN employees must work an average of 16 hours per pay period during course dates to be eligible for reimbursement. Book fees are reimbursed by providing receipts.

Verizon Discounts
Employees receive a 20 percent discount. To receive the discount, the cellular service must be in the employee's name.

Virginia College Saving Plan (VCSP)
We offer a discounted application fee for employees who open college savings plans for their dependents and select payroll deduction.

Virginia Education Savings Trust (VEST)
Enrollment takes place during select times of the year. Students of all ages can participate wherever they live. VEST funds can be used to pay for all major college expenses, including tuition, fees, room and board, textbooks, required computers, and supplies.

Virginia Prepaid Education Program (VPEP)
Earnings in a qualified college savings plan can grow tax-free. Participants can design an individual college savings plan to fit their exact needs.

Vision – Pearl Vision
Bon Secours employees receive a 30 percent discount at Pearl Vision centers.

Volunteer Program – Teens
